launcht The immensely loved microbuses since ages, Volkswagen has planned to bring them back in the market. Recently, Volkswagen has announced the launch of electric microbuses by the year 2022.
According to its CEO, “After the presentations at the global motor shows in Detroit and Geneva, we received a large number of letters and emails from customers who said, ‘please build this car.'” Diess announced the big news after the huge response in Detroit auto show.
The electric micro bus will just be having semi self-driving capabilities for now. The relaunching of immensely popular microbuses is a great step by Volkswagen. They also plan to launch commercial van version of the same, I.D. Buzz Cargo which will compete against Ford Transit and Ram Promaster.
It “looks like a compact commercial van on the outside, even though it offers the generous interior space of a large SUV,” Diess said.
