Helix Technologies To Develop GNSS Antennas For Driverless Cars

Helix Technologies a London based developer, has secured a funding of GBP 650,000 in a Phase B funding provided by private investors. The company plans to use the funds to reinforce the development of its antennas for a wide range of applications including autonomous vehicles, drones, Internet of Things and machine to machine communications.
The company deals with the development of ceramic-based helix antennas which has been of great demand in the market. Its unsurpassed gain/efficiency per unit of volume and more effective behavior, gives it an edge over the other generic antennas. The company believes that the driverless car segment, both GNSS and V2X DSRC applications, represents the most immediate and compelling need as a business opportunity for its helix antenna technology.

The support of investors allows the company to develop innovative solutions for this exciting growth market. Any navigation and communications equipment used on board will have to fulfill the highest-possible standards on safety, integrity and accuracy.

– John Yates MD, Helix Technologies
The company expects to have prototypes of its V2X DSRC antenna available by the second quarter of  2018 and its NEXTGEN GNSS antenna by the third quarter of 2018.
