Ericsson Partners With Zenuity To Develop Cloud-Based Platform For Autonomous Cars

Realizing that the future is Autonomous along side other its other benefits, Tech giants – Ericsson announced its partnership with automotive software developer Zenuity to develop an end-to-end cloud platform for autonomous cars. Zenuity is a German based automotive software joint venture between Autoliv and carmaker Volvo.
Initially Ericsson and Zenuity will work together on developing the Zenuity Connected Cloud, which will be powered by the Swedish vendor’s IoT Accelerator product. The plan is that in-vehicle software will be integrated with other vehicle functions, sensors and cloud support functions that will access external data from other vehicles and the cloud.
Zenuity CEO Dennis Nobelius said the platform would also provide equipment manufacturers with scalable cloud-based solutions to speed up time to market for their own connected car applications.
