India's Silicon Valley Showing Great Interest In Autonomous Engineering Courses

A few years back, the word “Autonomous” or “Self-Driving” wouldn’t really have clicked for individuals around the Tech domain in India. But the tables are now turning, with India’s Tech Capital- Bengaluru showing an increased rate of interest in the domain. The rather unique area of expertise is now catching the fancy of most Indian techies which is supported by exciting job prospects.
In September 2016, Udacity, an online learning platform, was the first to launch a nanodegree called The Self-Driving Car Engineer. Of the 7,000 students selected for course from over 50,000 applicants, Bengaluru recorded an enrollment of over 18%, making it the highest in the country, followed by Mumbai (12%), Hyderabad (12%) and Delhi-NCR (11%).

With technology stalwarts like Infosys now working on self-driving car projects, there’s a lot of buzz around this technology. Startups like Flux Auto and Ati Motors are working in this field

The 12-week course spread over nine months is equipped with interactive quizzes, lessons by industry professionals, one-on-one coaching and mentoring, tailored industry project portfolio and coach-supported forums for students to discuss lessons. Forbes has reported that $400,000 worth job opportunities will be created in this field in the coming years.
