Aston Martin Rivals Tesla for Title of Fastest Electric Car

James Bond’s favorite car makers, the Aston Martin Lagonda Limited announced last week that it had secured the permissions to build its zero-emissions plug-in super car, RapidE (an advanced version of its existing model Rapide S).
The car is set to be priced at around $230,000, with The Williams Advanced Engineering team also being a part of this project. The British car maker has promised a range of more than 200 miles on one charge, with an expected 0 to 60mph time of about 3 seconds.
Its top speed is recorded to be 155 mph & that ladies and gentlemen, will make it one of the fastest electric cars ever to be made.

“We are now putting the first all-electric Aston Martin into production,” Aston Martin President and CEO Andy Palmer said in a news release. “RapidE represents a sustainable future in which Aston Martin’s values of seductive style and supreme performance don’t merely co-exist alongside a new zero-emission powertrain but are enhanced by it. The internal combustion engine has been at the heart of Aston Martin for more than a century and will continue to be for years to come. RapidE will showcase Aston Martin’s vision, desire and capability to successfully embrace radical change, delivering a new breed of car that stays true to our ethos and delights our customers.”
